Tracy Johnson

I sing. I love music. I fall in love too fast. I write sad songs about guys who never deserved to kiss me in the first place.
If you have ever seen any of the shows/movies listed below you've heard my music. You might have also heard my songs while shopping at Bath & Body Works or other stores at the malls. (I only know this because I have heard them there ;-) A friend of mine heard my songs in a... Movie Theatre bathroom once. He wanted to tell the guy who was standing next to him at the urinal that he knew me, but felt that might be weird.

The jury is still out on that one.

Here is the business related side of things:
Licensing on TV Shows, Commercials, Movie (singular) and Radio Play:

My EP “Oceans Under Jupiter” contains two songs ("From Me To You" & "If I Had Known") that were featured on MTV's "The Real World Denver". XM Satellite Radio's "Radio Unsigned" program picked up "Does it Really Matter" & "From Me to You" and started giving them airplay. XM featured me as one of the *Futures* defined by them as "Artists to look for in the future as they are gaining momentum every day". XM also featured my music on "The Radar Report" a special weekly radio program highlighting the "12 most notable artists in the United States" The songs also began receiving radio airplay on 91X, 102.1 FM & 94.9FM.

My Full Length CD -"Dreams In Cold Weather" - a single off the unreleased "Dreams in Cold Weather", was featured on a compilation CD sent out to radio stations all over Europe ("The Good Life") The single spent 9 weeks on the Top 40 Charts on Capital Radio in Turkey (one of the two largest radio stations in Turkey). “The Good Life” charted as high as 4 on Radio ODTU (one of the largest University Radio Stations in Turkey). On both charts I was the only Independent Unsigned Artist up against Rhianna, Natasha Bedingfield, James Blunt, Coldplay and Gnarls Barkley. I danced around my living room when I found this out :) “She Isn’t Like Me”, one of the singles, was placed in MTV’s “Newport Harbor” (formerly known as “Laguna Beach”) “December” was selected for licensing placement in the Feature Film “Winter of Frozen Dreams” staring Thora Birch. "Every Word I Meant It" and "Does It Really Matter" were used in a commercial for the CW's show The New Beverly Hills 90210. "Does It Really Matter" was used in a commercial for The CW's New Show "Nikita". Three instrumentals from the album were used in MTV's "The Real World Challenge, Fresh Meat II". "Does it Really Matter" was used in The Road Rules Challenge "Cutthroat". The CD was nominated for “Best Pop Album” at the 2007 San Diego Music Awards.

My next EP "Maybe It's The Rain" was nominated for "Best Local Recording" at the 2010 San Diego Music Awards. MTV used "Breakable" in their show "Good Vibes" and also used "Breakable" in "The Challenge - Battle of the Exes". E!Entertainment and Bunim Murray Productions placed "Hurricane" in "Keeping Up With The Kardashians" two episodes: "Family Vs Money" and "Kim Becomes a Stage Mom". They placed "Faith in Hollywood Love" in the episode "Getting to Know You" and Breakable" in "Thicker Than Water". The Travel Channel used two of my songs for their show "Death Wish Movers". MTV's show "Made" used my song "Ruby Slippers" in their episode "Twindependent Breezy Bailey" I ♥ the People at MTV. They are very good to me.

Fabtone Records/Media Factory Distribution released “Dreams in Cold Weather” into the Japanese market. (i'm huge in Japan. but only literally, because i'm so much taller and more amazonian than those tiny Japanese girls)
